After earning a degree in Humanities with a thesis in Modern History, he focused his studies on socio-cultural changes and the transformations of social structures in the modern age, with particular attention to the role of cultural institutions and emerging ideologies in shaping collective identity and relations between social classes. He deepened these themes through master's degrees in historical, sociological, and psychological disciplines, with a specific study on the role of the Church as an agent of social transformation and the history of thought, concentrating on the evolution of philosophical and intellectual movements. His research has been recognized with prestigious scholarships.

Numismatic literature

Specializing in the history of numismatic literature, he conducts systematic research on Italian numismatic publications starting from the 16th century, with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview of the evolution of coin science within the national cultural and historical context. His work has allowed for the exploration of previously unstudied topics and the rediscovery of works by authors from the 17th to 19th centuries, many of which were lost or overlooked, and are regularly presented at national and international scientific conferences. His research extends beyond numismatic literature to include the study of coinages from the mints of Southern Italy and Sicily (from the Middle Ages to the 19th century), the coinage of the Kingdom of Italy, and Bourbon medallistics.

A specialist antiquarian bookseller in numismatics with Biblionumis, a globally leading project in the trade of numismatic books. His work is based on a careful selection of rare works, accompanied by rigorous scientific cataloging, which goes far beyond standard book descriptions. Each work is meticulously examined and cataloged with the support of thousands of bibliographic references, including historical and modern catalogs and archival sources. His approach is rooted in close and ongoing collaboration with prestigious cultural institutions, internationally renowned scholars, and private collectors, to whom he offers access to essential and often rare texts that serve as invaluable resources for academic research and the expansion of bibliographic collections. His expertise is also sought for the curation of specialist libraries and the enrichment of historical and antiquarian collections.

Publications

As a publisher, he is involved in the publication and facsimile reprints of rare and unpublished texts, with a particular focus on works that have shaped the history of numismatic literature. Through meticulous research and his passion for recovering fundamental documents, he has contributed to the dissemination of valuable sources, essential for the scientific community and collectors alike. Author of over one hundred articles published in national and international scientific journals, his works mainly focus on the history of numismatic literature, although he also addresses specific coinages. In 2022, he founded Il Foglio Numismatico. Periodico di letteratura sulla scienza delle monete (ISSN 3035-0603), of which he is currently the editor-in-chief. Through this periodical, he promotes groundbreaking research important for the study of the discipline’s evolution, contributing to the advancement of numismatic knowledge.

Conferences and exhibitions

As an organizer and moderator of national and international scientific conferences on numismatics and history, he has actively contributed to promoting dialogue among scholars in the field, creating opportunities for in-depth study and interdisciplinary exchange. Among the most recent events he has promoted are: Numismatica del Risorgimento (2021), Il “Corpus Nummorum Italicorum”: genesi ed eredità scientifica (2022), La Grande Guerra tra storia e mito (2023), organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the University of Bari “Aldo Moro,” and various State archives. These events have provided important opportunities for the dissemination of new research and the exploration of relevant themes, fostering the exchange of ideas and the development of new perspectives in the field of study. He also promotes and curates exhibitions focused on the history of numismatic literature. Through the display of fundamental texts and unpublished documents, these exhibitions, often organized in collaboration with prestigious cultural institutions, make numismatics and its literature more accessible to the general public.

"Biblionumis" Award

In 2017, he conceived the "Biblionumis" Award for numismatic research, an annual recognition aimed at encouraging the scientific study of coins and highlighting the efforts of those who have significantly contributed to the advancement of the discipline. The Award seeks to provide a tangible sign of appreciation to scholars and researchers who have distinguished themselves for the originality and significance of their scientific investigations, as well as for their contribution to the dissemination of numismatic knowledge. Over the course of its various editions, the "Biblionumis" Award has become a point of reference for the numismatic community, recognizing the work of individuals who represent excellence in the field. The winners, selected through a rigorous evaluation process, form a pantheon of leading specialists in the field, who have contributed to expanding the boundaries of the discipline and inspiring new generations of researchers.
